For instance, if you are a non-Asian and you are about to date an Asian man or woman, then you have a lot of things that you need to consider and think about. This is because even in this modern world, we cannot claim that customs of some people are still conservative. As a matter of fact, there are still customs that are being lived even until now. These are already inculcated to the culture of the people and cannot be erased. Hence, you might want to be sensitive enough to not antagonize your date.

1. Take note of general customs or paradigm of the one you are dating
What you need to do here is to research on what his or her interests as well as general traits like religion, political belief and many more. Specifically in Asia, you know that there are several distinct religions. Hence, you might want to research on that first so that you will be able to know what you shall do and not do. This would be applicable even in food that you will eat on your dinner date. There are some religions that have some restrictions and limitations on the food that they will eat. Hence, you need to be very sensitive on that.
2. Wear a half-mask
In dating, people are always wearing a mask. This is especially true if it is your first Asian dating experience. Moreover, this would be applicable as well when the persons dating are from different countries with different customs. You would, of course, want to please the person you are dating. However, I must not say that you shall not wear your full mask all the time. I suggest that you still put it but only half of it is on. What I am trying to say is that you must as well reveal some parts of you that are necessary if you want to continue dating with that person. That way, it would be easier to introduce the real you to the other person. Asian dating can be just as good as any other dating.
3. Be careful of you actions
Some people would say that being you shall be preferred when dating. This means that there shall be no pretends and masks. While this is true, I must say that it is not applicable in Asian dating when it is just the beginning of the story. You must be very careful when executing sensitive actions like smoking, drinking and the like. Most especially in smoking, while you might think that it would be a cool think for a girl, well, you better ask your date first if it is alright to smoke right there and then. Otherwise, find some place and do your thing there.

Culture is huge. Just like it is in non-Asian countries (we just think our culture is “normal”). What makes things tricky is that no Asian culture is the same. Chinese dating culture is very much different from Thai dating culture. Likewise, Indian dating culture is much different than Korean dating culture. Dating someone from Asia requires you to have a firm grasp of his or her culture. Even if the one you are dating isn’t perceived as traditional doesn’t mean that you should take his or her culture lightly because it was still what formed the one you are interested in. One great way to have a better idea of Asian culture is to do a search online for it. What you will soon find is that those from some countries have more conservative dating cultures than others.
Conservative Asian Dating Cultures
- Indian : The Indian dating culture is generally more conservative for girls than guys. If you are dating an Indian girl, there is a good chance that she is looking for marriage if you are considering anything beyond casual dating.
- Chinese: Chinese girls are traditionally known as being very conservative. However, the Chinese culture has different subgroups of culture. Those from major cities are less conservative than those from other cities.
